President Muizzu Highlights Bilateral Cooperation in Message to Seychellois Counterpart

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to strengthening its partnership with Seychelles, as the island nation commemorated its 48th Independence Day on Sunday.
In a message issued on social media, President Muizzu extended greetings to President Wavel Ramkalawan, the government of Seychelles and the Seychellois people. "May the festivities of the day be filled with joy and togetherness," he said.
President Muizzu's message conveyed a broader diplomatic intent, reaffirming the Maldives' commitment to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation and underscoring the shared pursuit of regional peace and stability. "The Maldives remains committed to strengthening our stable bilateral partnership on all matters of common interest and our shared commitment for regional peace and prosperity," he said.
Seychelles gained independence from British protection in 1977. The 29th of June is observed as both its Independence Day and National Day, a dual occasion that commemorates the nation's sovereignty and civic identity.
