MACL Conducts Familiarization Tour for Civil Aviation Authority Ahead of New Terminal Opening

As part of the Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) process, the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has conducted a familiarization tour for officials from the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
This initiative is part of MACL's efforts to ensure smooth coordination and operational preparedness ahead of the opening of the new international passenger terminal at Velana International Airport.
MACL stated that familiarization tours are an essential component of the ORAT process and are being carried out for all key stakeholders to align operations and procedures before the terminal becomes fully operational.
The new terminal is expected to begin partial operations on July 26th, coinciding with Maldives Independence Day, with capacity initially limited to 1,000 passengers. Operations will gradually expand based on system readiness and performance evaluations.
The tour for CAA follows similar sessions conducted for airline staff, general aviation agents, resort representatives, and other relevant partners.
