Economic Ministry has reported that the advanced team for the second Investment Forum has departed for China, for preparations of the Forum which will be held from the 19th of this month.
Ministry said that the officials from the Ministry will depart on a later date and that their visa processes were currently underway. The Ministry also said that Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed will be the lead from the Ministry. However, no details had been made public regarding who will be the focal point of the whole Maldivian contingent.
The Forum is mainly aimed at East Asian investors, but investors from other countries and regions are taking part in the forum. Over 3,000 investors are expected to visit the Forum. The purpose of the Forum is to inform and secure investment opportunities available in the Maldives.
Economic Ministry has revealed that the Forum held last year in Singapore was extremely successful as it had paved way for investments over the next five years.
The Embassies of the two nations are working tirelessly to ensure that the Forum will be a success.
