Non-Resident Ambassador of Turkmenistan presents credentials to the President

Non-Resident Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Maldives, His Excellency Shalar Geldynazarov, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador was escorted in a traditional 'Haiykolhu' cultural procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
The President accepted the Letter of Credence and formally welcomed His Excellency Shalar Geldynazarov as the Ambassador of Turkmenistan.
Following the ceremony, the President and the Ambassador held discussions on several areas of mutual interest, including expanding cooperation in economic development, investment opportunities, and connectivity, and expressed their shared commitment to advancing collaboration for the mutual benefit of both countries.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Turkmenistan were established on 25 September 1992.
