"Its a great achievement for Maldives to chair AOSIS": Minister Thoriq

For becoming the Chairman of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS)، Maldives have achieved a great success، said Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim.
AOSIS was formed under the leadership of Maldives، after the first International Conference of Small Island Developing States held in Maldives in November 1989.
It is a coalition of small island and low-lying coastal countries that share similar development challenges and concerns about the environment، especially their vulnerability to the adverse effects of global climate change.
