Maldivians in Malaysia celebrate Eid al-Adha at Eid Ufaa event

The High Commission of the Maldives in Malaysia organised Eid al-Adha celebrations for Maldivians residing in the country with an event titled “Eid Ufaa - Malaysia”.
The event, held in Kuala Lumpur, aimed to strengthen friendship among Maldivians in Malaysia and preserve cultural customs and traditions.
Celebrations began with a traditional Eid lunch and included Udhiya slaughter. Activities and entertainment featured sack races and tug-of-war games, Boduberu performances, traditional dances and Bodu Mas activities.
Around 50 students from the Maldives National University Student Union (MNUSU) participated in the cultural activities, including students from universities including Sunway University, Taylor’s University, and Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU).
Children’s activities included Disney character appearances, face painting, cupcake decorating and water play. A lucky draw was held for both children and adults, with valuable prizes awarded to winners.
The event concluded with the distribution of Udhiya meat as part of a charity initiative. The event was attended in large numbers by families and students living in Malaysia.
