Foreign conference invitations are a sign of Nasheed’s leadership – MDP

MDP has said that former President Nasheed gets invitations from abroad to conferences because he is a great leader.
A press release following Nasheed’s return from abroad after attending 2 conferences، MDP said that Nasheed was a special guest at two international conferences held in Japan and the United Arab Emirates recently.
During the law group International Bar Association’s annual conference held in Japan، President Nasheed gave a speech on the environment، said MDP. International Bar Association is a group of over 50،000 lawyers and law firms، and is the world’s largest such association. The conference as attended by Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe، Emperor Akihito of Japan، Former Irish President Mary Robinson، Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and Former Mexican President Philippe Calderon.
The second event was an international award ceremony to commemorate UAE’s founder Sheik Zaid Bin Sultan Al Nakhyan. President Nasheed was in the jury panel of Zaid Future Energy Prize.
MDP said that it believes these are opportunities for the former president will benefit Maldives in becoming more prominent globally.
