President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a congratulatory ‎message ‎to the new Prime Minister of‏ ‏Timor Leste, His Excellency Dr. Rui ‎Maria de Araujo, following ‎his victory in the recent elections.‎
The President’s message reads as follows:‎
‎"On behalf of the people and the Government of Maldives, it gives me great ‎‎pleasure to extend to you sincere congratulations and best wishes on your ‎appointment as ‎the new Prime Minister of Timor-Leste.‎"‎
‎"I wish you fortitude in discharging the important duties of your position. ‎While ‎expressing the hope that the friendly relations existing between our ‎two countries will be ‎further strengthened in the years to come, allow me ‎also to convey to you my good ‎wishes for your health and well-being."
