The task force formed by President Yameen to solve the water crisis in Male’ following the fire at MWSC on Thursday has announced that they will stop the distribution of water bottles from Wednesday night.
Chairman of the task force، Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim has informed that the distribution of the water bottles will discontinue from Wednesday night، while the time period of the resumption of water supply will be increased from Thursday.
Minister Nazim has informed that the water supply will be resumed for five hours during morning and again during night، starting from Thursday.
He said that the task force has decided to discontinue the distribution of water bottles as it is less troubling for the residents to get water، and most of the local shops have enough water in their stocks to sell.
He further advised not to throw the empty water bottles as Environment Protection Agency (EPA) will start collecting empty water bottles.
While several efforts are being put to alleviate the residents from the water crisis، Government had earlier informed that it will take two weeks to completely solve the crisis and resume the normal water services from MWSC as it was before.
