Foreign Minister DunyaMaumoon has stated that justice would be served as written in the laws and the Constitution of the nation.
She made the statement in a tweet posted in the Foreign Ministry’s official twitter account.
Her tweet added that the Government does not condone calls for violence and criminal activities and added that she was quite concerned over the tweets issued by some countries regarding the present political situation in the country. Minister Dunya assured that the Government will not intervene in the judicial process.
America, Canada and Britain had expressed concerns last night following the terrorism charges filed against opposition leaders, Adhaalath Party (AP) President Sheikh Imran Abdullah, Jumhooree Party (JP) Deputy Leader Ameen Ibrahim and Council Member Sobah Rasheed.
