Jumhooree Party leader, Gasim Ibrahim has said that does not seek power but only want to bring a government which establishes justice and protects the civil liberties of the citizens.
Gasim Ibrahim said that authority is that which is granted by Allah. He said that Allah gives this great responsibility to establish justice, equality and fairness for all.
“The person in power is not important. What is important is whoever is ruling should establish public values such as justice, equality and liberty,” he said.
Gasim said that he has been working towards establishing this goal since 1984. “I do not seek any personal advantages. I am lacking only on thing. It is that which is lacking from the whole citizenry. That is the government establishing justice and equality. All blessings have been granted to me other than this. And I thank Allah for the blessings,” he said.
He said that the government is an important and essential mechanism and the only institution that can make these kinds of core political values a reality.
Gasim said that prosperity of the people cannot be ensured without the government ascertaining the civil liberties of all people.
In addition to this, the Jumhooree Party leader also raised concern regarding the issue of taxes taken from communication services.
