Former President of the Maldives Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom have said that political instability will endanger the sovereignty of the nation. He said we might lose our independence not only through an invading army.
A statement made by Maumoon on the occasion of the 51st independence day of Maldives، read that political instability will divide the nation. It also said that، such things will empower extremist elements within the country.
The statement also said that، the country faces various challenges because of some individuals within the country. Maumoon also said that we should be always aware of other forces that might to take over our nation.
In his message Maumoon also wished the President and the First Lady on the occasion.
