Ahmed Zuhoor has been appointed as the Minister of Health which was vacant for long time.
Ahmed Zuhoor was appointed as the Health Minister in a ceremony held today in the President Office. In the ceremony، he took the oaths before the Judge of High Court، Ali Sameer.
Before appointed as the Minister، he was filling the seat of Customs Commissioner General which was assigned to him on 9th September 2014.
Zuhoor has attained a master’s degree in science in Sweden’s World Maritime University. He has also studied in the field of accounting and finance and business administration from Australian Universities.
The former Health Minister Dr. Mariyam Shakeela was made to resign from the position due to disapproval from Majlis and a new Health Minister is appointed after 6 months.
Until the middle of January this year، the Former Defense Minister was in charge of the Health Ministry. After the Defense Minister was resigned from the position، Fisheries Minister، Dr. Mohamed Shainee was held in charge of Health Ministry.
