Sheikh Ahmed Sameer said that in the event any Muslim in any part of the world is facing oppression, then were have to raise our voices against it.
He made the statement speaking in Ihya forum held last night conducted by Islamic Ministry.
Sheikh Sameer said that some nations have prohibited fasting and this was especially significant given that this was the last 10 days of Ramadan. He noted that it really was no concern to those nations, if the Muslims observed the fast and therefore, cannot ban people from fasting.
He also noted that in some nations, Muslims are mistreated and subject to inhuman treatment, such as genocide. Sheikh Sameer said that this was reminiscent of the pre-Islamic Arab world and that it was saddening that such actions were taking place in the modern world.
Sheikh Sameer said that therefore it was imperative that we raise our voices against it and mention their condition in our prayers.
Islamic Ministry’s Deputy Sheikh Ibrahim Ahmed said that simply speaking of rights was not enough, we have to act on religiously mandated actions. He also advised on all to remember the oppressed in our prayers.
