Home Minister Umar Naseer said that prisoners will escape from prisons regardless of high security.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Minister Umar said that the security of the Maldivian prisons will be increased but it will not end escape of prisoners. However, he said that it will reduce the number of prisoners escaping.
Umar Naseer said that prison escapes is common even in developed states with high security prisons. He said that the government will do everything it can to reduce this number and find the convicts if esapbed.
He said that it is common that many prisoners will be always plotting to escape the prison since the first day he enters a prison.
Umar Naseer said that Ibrahim Shahum and Fariyah Ahmed recently escaped Maafushi prison by sawing 22 places of the prison.
