Opposition MDP worries over state hesitant in disclosing details of the midnight raid by Police officials on Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim’s residence last night.
MDP released statement reads about the untimely raid of disguised Police officials into the premises of a minister will not be regarded lightly، even though the Police had acted after receiving court order. The statement also reads that local residences cannot be raided unless Police or authorities have gathered compelling evidence of illegal activities tied to any such premises.
“When Police raided the premises of a well noted minister، it is certain it was done following proper document presentation. According to media reports Police raided Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim’s residence on the alleged account of weapons and explosives possession and terrorism acts.” MDP’s statement read.
Meanwhile state is confident over Defense Minister’s credibility، the raid under court order and evidence on the alleged claims implicates a government body working without the consent of the state government at play، and it is therefore a worrying matter.
MDP also criticized and raised concern over authorities stating they had taken full consideration for Defense Minister’s well-being and the raid was carried out with utmost respect to Nazim، it is however contradictory and thus questionable.
