Former Minister of Defence Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim has been summoned to the court to place him in the detention following his arrest last night.
Minister Nazim was reportedly taken inside the court from the back entrance.
Police were stationed near the court after sending off the crowd gathered prior to Nazim’s arrival.
Former Minister was arrested last night at around 01:10 while he was at his wife’s residence.
Though no authorities have yet released an official statement، Minister Nazim was not arrested regarding the case of discovering dangerous weaponry at his private residence.
Reportedly he was arrested on the suspicion of ‘plotting against the Government’، as per the court order issued by the Criminal Court.
Former Minister Nazim was under Police custody in Dhoonidhoo.
