The media in Maldives criticizing the Government is an encouragement to move forward، says Tourism Minister and PPM Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor.  
In the launching ceremony of DhiXtra and DhiTV Website held in front of DhiTV on Saturday night، Minister Adeeb said that there is no independent media as Maldives Media and they have all rights to broadcast any news.
“This is something our government endorses. Even our President have said in many occasions. Media has to criticize when we are in such political posts.” Minister Adeeb said.
Adeeb said that those who hold Political posts should be tolerant to the criticism of Media and not to get enraged to the comments Media say.
Remarking the importance of moving forward with the media، he further said that government will help media to develop.
DhiXtra and the website of DhiTV was launched by Minister of Defense Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim. Senior officials of DhiTV and Maldives Journalist Association (MJA) attended the ceremony.
DhiTV informs that DhiXtra will be available to people very soon.
