The senior community hub developed in Hulhumale’ was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
The hub aims to foster social welfare of the elderly citizens living in Hulhumale’.
At a special ceremony held on Wednesday morning, the hub was officially inaugurated by the Deputy Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Fayaz Mansoor. Developed under HDC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives, the hub’s management has been mandated under the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
The primary goal of the hub, HDC said, was to provide a friendly space for elderly citizens to seek necessary services, and was developed with the latest equipment.
The hub will reportedly provide health screening and other specialized healthcare diagnostics for the elderly, HDC added. Besides this, the venue features a common area, a recreational zone, and a special area for other sedentary activities including book reading.
Other facilities of the hub include an emergency response room, prayer room, and a kitchen.
The new hub, designed to accommodate persons with disabilities as well, will be open from 08:00hrs until 18:00hrs everyday except Fridays and Saturdays.
