Mohamed Rishwan has been appointed as the new Managing Director and Board Director of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).
His appointment follows the dismissal of former Managing Director Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim last Sunday, leaving the position vacant.
Rishwan was previously the Deputy CEO of the main government hospital, Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), where he played a key role in the hospital’s development. He also served in the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) and Maldives Police Service (MPS) for several years, where he held the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police, resigning from the post on 12 July 2011.
