Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Signs MoU with West London Chambers of Commerce to Boost Bilateral Trade

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has formalized a partnership with the West London Chambers of Commerce (WLCC) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing trade and investment relations between the Maldives and the United Kingdom.
Signed on July 17, 2025, the MoU creates a structured framework to facilitate cooperation in trade, investment, and business development. Key initiatives under the agreement include organizing bilateral trade missions, promoting investment opportunities, participating jointly in international trade fairs, and driving business matchmaking through a Joint Business Council.
This collaboration aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s economic vision to build a resilient and globally connected Maldivian economy, leveraging international partnerships to foster sustainable growth and diversification.
The agreement is initially set for three years, with mechanisms in place for regular review and potential renewal to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
