The attempt to deliver the letter to Home Minister Umar Naseer by the activists of MDP has been failed.
The letter was signed by more than 100 members of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) to make sure of the safety of Former President Mohamed Nasheed.
MDP’s members had also sent letters to the Criminal Court to make sure that Nasheed is safe and sound.
More than 100 members had tried to submit the letter to the Home Minister. However، the barricade by the Police has obstructed the attempt.
MDP’s Deputy Chairperson Ali Niyaz informed that MDP intended to submit the letter to Umar Naseer by the whole convey.
However، the police at the barricade said that only one is person can cross the barricade at a time along with a police officer، which was “not the option we wanted” stated the Vice Chairperson.
