Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali has said that if the prisoners escape from prison due to government neglect then the government of former President Mohamed Nasheed was the most negligent government as the most prisoners who escaped from prison were during his regime.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Muaz said that the it is ironic that Nasheed is making such a claim that prisoners escape due to negligence of the government.
He said that 30 prisoners escaped from 2009 to 2011. He said that these incidents occurred due to the negligence from the prisoners.
Muaz said that the prisoners who were given clemency by Nasheed’s regime are now terrorizing the society.
He said that Nasheed and his ilk have been politicizing everything to achieve their sinister agendas. He said that MDP are in total desperation in making any responsible criticism on the government.
