President of the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that the Maldives does not have to be like the unstable Afghanistan,
He made this remark speaking at the press conference held before his departure to United Arab Emirates to participate in the Zaid Future Energy Prize Jury meeting.
Nasheed said that no one will want Maldives to be a war torn Afghanistan like country. He said that Maldives today is described on the brink of instability and war.
The former President heavily criticized the current government speaking to the media and said that the elections reveal that the people have lost their trust in the government.
Nasheed made this remark in the view of the recent success achieved by MDP by winning the bi election held recently for two islands.
