The Adhaalath Party has decided to nominate former Vice President of Maldives Media Council (MMC) Hussain Sageef to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections on Adhaalath Party’s ticket for Vaikaradhoo constituency.
The parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held by the Election Commission (EC) on March 17.
According to a statement by the Adhaalath Party, in the 33rd meeting of 3rd session, they have approved giving party’s tickets to four of the candidates who had applied for the adhaalath party ticket in the parliamentary elections. Sageef is one of the four candidates.
Sageef, who was also the former president of Haa Dhaalu Atoll Council, stated previously in the social media post that with the blessings of God, he has decided to contest for the parliament of Vaikaradhoo constituency. He also stated that he looks forward to the full support, assistance and good advice and consultation of the people of HDh. Nellaidhoo, HDh. Kurinbi and HDh. Vaikaradhoo.
Born in Vaikaradhoo, Sageef had also contested the 2019 parliamentary elections. He finished second with 995 votes.
