Seventeen airlines join Maldives’ sea-to-air cargo service

Seventeen international airlines have joined the Maldives’ sea-to-air cargo service.
Launched as a joint venture between Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), and Maldives Customs Service, the service aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s vision to diversify the economy.
The service, launched in May last year, enables seamless transit of goods arriving by sea and departing by air. Currently, goods are being transported to 23 destinations across the world. According to statistics, over two million kilograms of cargo have been carried through the sea-to-air cargo service thus far.
