Parliament has approved the appointment of Zam’ath Ahmed Waheed as a member of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom).
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu nominated six candidates for the appointment of a member to the Broadcasting Commission as the term of commission member Aminath Ameena was nearing expiration. Zam'ath Ahmed scored the highest marks among the nominees.
Members voted unanimously in favor of Zam’ath’s appointment to the Broadcasting Commission during Monday’s Parliament sitting. A total of 56 members participated in the vote.
Zam'ath holds a Masters in Journalism and has worked in the state media as well as some private media outlets.
