In line with the pledge made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to strengthen healthcare services in HDh. Nolhivaranfaru, a specialist pediatrician has been appointed to the island’s health center today.
This was a significant commitment made by the President during his visit to Nolhivaranfaru on August 25, 2025, while meeting with the island’s residents to discuss improving the local healthcare system.
In fulfillment of this pledge, the pediatrician officially joined the Nolhivaranfaru Health Center’s service starting January 11, 2026.
The appointment of a specialist pediatrician to the Nolhivaranfaru Health Center has brought great joy to the residents of the island, as it ensures access to these services locally from today onwards.
With the appointment of a pediatrician to Nolhivaranfaru, pediatric services have now commenced in that island, as well as at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH), Hanimaadhoo, and Makunudhoo. Additionally, information has been received that the process of appointing a pediatrician to Nolhivaram is currently underway.
The provision of pediatricians, internal medicine specialists, and gynecologists to Makunudhoo, Hanimaadhoo, Nolhivaranfaru, and Nolhivaram is a pledge made by President Muizzu to the residents of those islands.
Internal medicine specialists and gynecologists have already been appointed to Hanimaadhoo and Makunudhoo.
