Minister Nazim holds discussions with Bangkok Hospital
The discussions took place on the trip Minister Nazim took to Bangkok, Thailand, last Friday. Discussions had taken place on obtaining specialists, and obtaining equipment needed for Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and Senehiya. Discussions were also held on establishing a system to prevent shortages of prescription drugs, making health clinic services more efficient and making medicine lacking in Maldives available at Bangkok Hospital through Asandha. Health Ministry said that discussions had also be held on signing a Memorandum of Understanding between IGMH and Bangkok Hospital, to improve the telemedicine services provided in IGMH and establish an easy and efficient health care system. A delegation of Bangkok Hospital officials are expected to arrive in Maldives soon, to sign the MoU, said the Ministry. Health Ministry also said that specialist doctors from Bangkok Hospital would arrive in Maldives soon, to provide their services in areas lacking in the country. Dr Ali Latheef from IGMH and Dr Ali Shahid Mohamed from Senehiya joined Minister Nazim in the discussions.
