Home Ministry has stated that the current government has brought an end to the unrest and instability in the country that was rampant during the presidency of former President Mohamed Nasheed.
Home Ministry made this remark in view of the claims of the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) that the stability of the country has been lost.
Deputy of the Home Minister, Ahmed Siddeeq told Miadhu Daily that the people were living in fear from 2009 to 2012.
He said that the achievements of the present government in one year is greater than what the MDP regime ever achieved in their three year government.
“There was no safety or stability in the country during Nashees regime. It was our current government which established peace and stability in the society,” he said.
Siddeeq said that MDP is trying to find a way to create unrest and strife in the society. He said that the intention of MDP is to create corruption among the people.
