Three SOEs to complete unfinished works in 18 schools

Ministry of Education has awarded contracts to three state-owned companies (SOEs) for completing unfinished works in 18 schools across various atolls.
Road Development Corporation (RDC), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), and Fenaka Corporation, were awarded contracts to carry out the necessary work in the schools.
At a ceremony held yesterday at the Ministry of Education, the contracts were signed by Minister Dr Ismail Shafeeu on behalf of the Ministry, with the managing directors of the three companies signing on behalf of their respective organizations.
Fenaka Corporation was awarded the contract to work on 12 schools.
MTCC was awarded the contracts for Haa Alifu Uligan, Raa Ungoofaaru, Kaafu Maafushi, and Vaavu Felidhoo schools, while RDC was given the work to complete Haa Alifu Filladhoo and Raa Hulhudhuffaaru schools.
Recently, the government has also awarded Fenaka, MTCC, and RDC with developing police stations in 75 islands.
This is part of the government's initiative to resume stalled infrastructure projects across the nation this year.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu earlier said that the government will collaborate with various companies to achieve this goal.
