Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Spokesperson Imthiyaz Fahmy has stated that some people are plotting to murder former President Nasheed while he is in Dhoonidhoo.
In the news conference held in the MDP office، Imthiyaz Fahmy stated that he has received information that Nasheed will be murdered، and the murder will be shown as a suicide.
Imthiyaz reported that he has received information that Nasheed will be kidnapped in the midnight when he is prisoned in Dhoonidhoo.
He further stated that Nasheed is being guarded by only one security officer and he believes that he is not given the proper security needed. He asserted that this leaves room for a planned conspiracy.
Imthiyaz has informed that he has requested the above concerns to police and the relevant authorities.
Until the special jail apartment is built in Maafushi، Nasheed will be detained and kept in Dhoonidhoo. The special jail apartment being built in Maafushi for Nasheed to serve the 13 years of jail sentence will be completed within 7-10 days، says the Home Minister Umar Naseer.
