Government has stated that the former President Mohamed Nasheed resigned after pulling the nation into economic disaster from the many contracts he signed during his presidency.
Speaking to the press at a press conference held at the President’s Office, Fisheries and Agriculture Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee said that the government is still trying to find a way to continue some of the flats he started.
“We are trying to bring development to the airport through the tourism industry. But there are many impediments. We are trying to continue with some of the flats, but again there are many impediments to it. The issue of waste is a big problem. All of these problems stem from the contracts of former President Nasheed,” he said.
Dr. Shainee said that the former President Nasheed’s government made agreements without considering the damages it can cause.
He said that the current government does not sign any agreement without considering the damages it can cause.
