The Deputy Head of Mission of the Japanese Embassy Ms. Asako Okai has called on Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon today.
At the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry this afternoon, Minister welcomed Ms. Asako Okai and extended greetings and good wishes from the Government and people of the Maldives to the Government and the people of Japan.
At the meeting, Minister Dunya remarked at the value attached by the Government of Maldives in respect of the bilateral ties that exist between the two countries, and highlighted the attributes of shared values, and mutual respect, that underlie the close relations.
Foreign Minister also expressed confidence that both Governments would engage in promoting economic cooperation.
Minister Dunya was accompanied by Ms. Aishath Azeema, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
