Spokesperson of the government, Ibrahim Muaz Ali has said that the current government does not want to arrest politicians.
Muaz made this remark following the allegations of the opposition MDP that the government is trying to arrest former President Mohamed Nasheed as soon as he arrives to Maldives.
Muaz said that the government does not want to respond to politicians who make such accusations to achieve their political motives. In this regard, he said that the main focus of the government is to fulfill President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s electoral pledges.
Opposition MDP stated that the former President Mohamed Nasheed will be returning to Maldives today afternoon following the news that he will be arrested once he arrives in Maldives.
While, President Nasheed is participating in many environmental seminars many ask question regarding what his government did to protect the sensitive environment of Maldives.
