Police officials who requested raid on minister's residence summoned to court

Criminal Court said that police officers who requested the raid had been summoned to court on Sunday, “to clarify more information regarding the request for court order.” The raid, which started after police destroyed the front door of Minister Nazim’s residence – an apartment building owned by his wife – at around 3:15 am, continued on for about two hours during which time the police confiscated “some materials needed for investigation.” Haveeru has been informed that Criminal Court had approved a court order for the raid under suspicions of “terrorism, and harboring weapons and explosives.” Minister Nazim had refused to comment on the matter, saying that it was the police who would be doing all the commenting regarding the operation. No official word is available regarding the contents of the court order.
