Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed has assured that the officials of the Police Service will continue extending their support to the people during the crisis of complete disruption of water service in Male’، until a solution is found for it.
In a press conference held on Saturday late afternoon near T-Jetty Area، CP Waheed has highlighted the work of Police and said that their work will be seen anywhere in Male’، and that they will continue the support until a solution is found for the water crisis.

“I want to highlight the continued support from the people to keep the community peaceful. Or else، we will have to face other difficulties while facing the water crisis.” CP Waheed said.
CP Waheed has expressed gratitude in the name of Maldives Police Service and Maldives National Defence Force، for the people for their continued patience and support during the water crisis.
He further said that he is closely monitoring the work of Police and MNDF Officers during the water distribution and that he is providing his assistance and instruction to improve the work.
Following the fire at MWSC which completely disrupted the water services in Male’ City، several friendly countries have pledged to extend humanitarian aid to Maldives. While Naval Ships and Aircraft are enroute to Maldives carrying the water assistance، some of Naval Ships have docked in Male’، and several Aircraft has landed to the Airport carrying tonnes of water assistance.
The countries who pledged to help Maldives are India، China، Sri Lanka and America.
In addition to Police and MNDF Officials، Scout Association and Maldives Red Crescent are assisting during the distribution of water at the centers in Male’.
