Mega Maldives, successfully braving through every challenge: Minister Nazim
Speaking during the ceremony held at Citron Restaurant to mark the company’s four year anniversary and the launch of its operations to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Minister Nazim said that the airline had faced numerous challenges during the past four years, but was triumphant despite all those challenges. Minister Nazim said that private airlines such as Mega Maldives increasing its operations to other countries, was immensely beneficial to Maldivian tourism industry, with increased opportunity for more tourists to travel into the country. Mega Maldives board member Mizna Ahmed spoke of the various challenges the company had faced in its four year existence, and expressed her gratitude towards the company’s employees during those challenging times. The company has flights going to KL three times a week – on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; and a flight coming back from KL every Saturday night. The price for a two-way ticket to Malaysia is USD 250. The company has a flight going to Jeddah every Thursday, and a flight returning from Jeddah every Saturday morning. Mega Maldives held a wildly successful promotion to celebrate the launch of their operations to the two new destinations, during which a two-way ticket to Malaysia was sold at USD 99 and a two-way ticket to Jeddah – USD 400. The limited promotion tickets were completely sold out within a matter of minutes.
