Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dunya Maumoon has sent a message of sympathy to Ms. Retno LP. Marsudi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, following the disappearance of the AirAsia Indonesia flight QZ850l which was travelling from Surabaya, Indonesia to Singapore with 162 people.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
It was with deep shock and sorrow that I learned the tragic news of the disappearance of the AirAsia Indonesia flight QZ850l which was travelling from Surabaya, Indonesia to Singapore with 162 people.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Government and people of Indonesia. Please also convey our sincere sympathies to the members of the families directly affected by the incident.
At this time of national distress, our thoughts and prayers are with the Government and the people of Indonesia.
