Adhaalath Party (AP) has opened application for the party’s ticket to contest in the local council elections.
AP announced that the application for the party’s ticket will be open until 3 pm on January 26. They said application forms can be submitted directly to the party’s main office or through email.
AP has decided to contest for all seats in the council elections. The party says a decision is yet to be made on multiple applications for the same constituency which exceeds the number of seats that will be elected.
Apart from AP, the main ruling party Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), the main opposition party Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and Jumhooree Party (JP) have also decided to contest for all seats in the election.
