HDC becomes first SOE to publish RTI-required information

The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has become the first government-owned company to publish the information required under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
The achievement was announced by the Information Commissioner Aahid Rasheed in a social media post.
In his post, the Commissioner praised HDC’s compliance and said HDC has proactively made all legally required information publicly available. He said HDC sets an example for other state-owned companies, and urged other government-owned companies to follow HDC’s lead. He further emphasised that transparent is important as government-owned companies operate using public funds and provide essential services.
The Information Commissioner also highlighted that 16 government ministries, including the President’s Office, have already complied with RTI disclosure requirements.
