N.Magoodho is a beautiful island with a population of 415 people. People have been living in this island since it was repopulated around 40 years ago. Since then، people have been praying in one old mosque in the island.
President Maumoon once visited the island and said that the mosque was not facing Qibla. The direction of the mosque was once changed. This mosque is a small mosque compared to the population of the island. It is built on the foundation of an ancient mosque in the island. The mosque is around 30 years old.
Ageel Hussein a council member of Magoodhoo said that previously the government decided to build one mosque from Saudi aid in the island، but the decision was later changed. ” We do not know why the changed the decision، we arranged everything from our side” said Ageel.
” Even you can see the condition of this mosque، no government has been able to construct a mosque in this island، please bring this to the attention of the government ” said a middle aged man from the island.
The islanders said that a beautiful mosque in the island will make them happy.
