President Yameen congratulates‏ ‏Japanese Prime ‎‎Minister-elect

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a congratulatory ‎message ‎to Mr. Shinzo Abe on his re-election as the Prime Minister of ‎Japan for a third term.
‎The President’s message reads as follows:‎
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Maldives ‎and on my own behalf, I extend to you warm congratulations and sincere ‎good wishes on your re-election as the Prime Minister of Japan for a third ‎term. Your Excellency’s election victory is a testament to the trust and ‎confidence that the people of Japan have in your leadership.”‎
“The Maldives and Japan have excellent bilateral relations, which have ‎grown during Your Excellency’s tenure. I am honoured to note that Japan ‎has provided support to the Maldives whenever needed, further cementing ‎the close relationship shared by both countries. I would also like to take ‎this opportunity to extend my sincere appreciation for the timely assistance ‎given to us by Japan, during the recent water crisis in Male’. I look forward ‎to continue working closely with Your Excellency to further strengthen the ‎ties of friendship and cooperation between our two countries.”‎
