Home Minister Umar Naseer has requested the Correctional Service to make an audit of Mafushi prison security and submit it to the Home Ministry.
In an interview to Miadhu Daily, Home Minister Umar Naseer said that the ministry gave the correctional service a period of a week to conduct this audit.
He said that the report will reveal the state of the security of the prison and the loop holes within the security mechanism of the prison.
Minister Umar said that the security of the prison will be further investigated following this report.
He said that the security will be upgraded and training will be given to those necessary.
Two dangerours prisoners recently broke out from Mafushi prison. Up until now they have not been found by the Police.
