Two Maldivian men, aged 40 and 66, were safely rescued after their dinghy capsized near Gdh. Madaveli today.
Police received a report at approximately 8:39 AM about a drifting dinghy, prompting a search operation. The capsized vessel was located by police at around 11:04 AM, with the two men found safely perched atop the dinghy. Both were reported to be in good condition.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) search team also assisted another dinghy found in the area, ensuring its safe return to Madaveli.
The rescue comes amid worsening weather conditions across much of the Maldives. Currently, a Yellow Alert is in effect from Ha. Atoll to F. Atoll, while a White Alert covers the southern atolls.
Authorities continue to urge caution due to challenging weather.
