Government manifesto will not be negated in any manner، said Minister of Defence and the current acting Minister of Health Colonel Retired Mohamed Nazim.
Minister made the statement today at the seminar held in Nasandhura Palace Hotel for reviewing the Health Master Plan which was held by Ministry of Health in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO).
“Everything will occur according to the manifesto” said Nazim who had been Defence Minister for the last 4 years.
He also urged to hold a survey to inspect the Master Plan in order to make it perfect and assured government assistance on the project.
The Master Plan indicates equality in the health service provided in various parts of the nation as well as Male’ and its surrounding islands. Apart Minister urged to make Doctors، Nurses and management training in the health sector or more efficient and responsible. He also recommended for Health Ministry and Government to share this project in equal manner in order to produce results.
One of the people responsible for finalizing the Master Plan، Dr.Sheena stated that the health sector had declined since 2008. She also highlighted that even though Doctors and Nurses had increased in number، the number of locals in health sector has decreased.

Another fact she highlighted was the money received by individuals under Aasanda scheme had increased but the availability of required prescription drugs in most of the islands are very much limited، and the expense from Government for health and medication has reduced but increased in households and for the past 10 years there has been no appropriate result produced to improve these flaws in the health sector.
The first Health Master Plan was introduced back in 2008، and the work in progress Master Plan would be the third، and this would be effective for 10 years starting from 2016.
