Sheikh Imran Abdullah, the President of the Adhaalath Party has said that the Home Minister Umar Naseer and Vice President Mohamed Jameel Ahmed will be in jail if the people cease to come out to the streets in defence of the constitution.
Sheikh Imran made this remark speaking at the public rally held entitled “Maldivians, in defence of the constitution.”
He said that if the people had not come out in defence of the constitution then all political leaders will have to face prison.
“The most courageous people in the nation today are those who are striving to defend the constitution and the people from the oppression of the current government,” he said.
He said that the number of people joining the opposition have been increasing. He said that those who are opposition the government’s tyranny are salute worthy.
