The President’s Office has announced that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be departing for an official visit to India next week, on the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The visit is to take place from August 1-4.
During the visit, several high-level discussions will take place between the governments of the Maldives and India to further cement the two countries' strong friendship and development partnership. A Maldivian delegation of senior government officials and representatives of leading businesses will accompany the president on this visit.
This will be President Solih’s second official visit to India since assuming office. His first official visit to India took place in December 2018. Several important bilateral agreements were signed between the two countries during that visit.
