Islamic Affairs Minister, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said that there is no room in Maldives for anything which challenges and mocks the tenets of Islam.
Dr. Shaheem made this remark speaking at the press conference held at the Islamic Ministry.
Dr. Shaheem said that the books with anti-Islamic content and similar documents have been smuggled a few times. He said those books were confiscated and action was taken against those who import such materials.
He said that many times Maldivians are behind these illegal activities.
