Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Ms Dunya Maumoon has today departed for Colombo. During her visit Minister Dunya is expected to call on the new President of Sri Lanka and convey fecilitations on behalf of President Abdulla Yameen and the people of Maldives.
Maldives and Sri Lanka share historical ties of friendship based on mutual trust and respect. The Foreign Minister will also convey an invitation from President Yameen to President Sirisena to undertake an official visit to Maldives.
